History / Purpose

Our Journey of Hope® (OJOH) is a biblically-based approach to cancer care ministry sponsored by the City of Hope, that combines advanced treatments and technologies to fight cancer with supportive care therapies to manage side effects. In this integrative model of care, spiritual support nurtures cancer patients’ faith and helps them cope with the challenges of cancer care throughout their journey.

Our Journey of Hope Cancer Care Ministry is a ministry of hope sponsored by the City of Hope, and hosted at Rushing Wind Church. This ministry is vital, the need is great and only a few have answered the call. If your heart goes out to those impacted by cancer and you believe that God wants their hearts to be filled with Hope, then it is time to begin watering the seeds planted in your own heart.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant...” 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 (NKJ)

Mission / Vision

Our Journey of Hope Cancer Care Ministry at Rushing Wind Church is for members & its mission is centered on bringing God’s hope to patients and their caregivers, family, and friends through prayer, counsel, visits and practical assistance. As a hope ministry it requires an understanding of the impact of cancer, how people react to it and how God has called His people to respond. To bring hope and light to individuals and families suffering under the shadow of cancer. We want to show the love of Christ. To help lift the burden that people are carrying and to offer comfort and hope to those living with a cancer diagnosis. To bring love and hope to a patient can make all of the difference in the world.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (NKJ)
